Life in lockdown – one way of
dealing with it
“What should we do in Lockdown?” asked our Editor, Martyn Best
The logic was inescapable, and so I escaped and my logic went with me along the following lines.
“Keep safe, stay alert, don’t spread the virus, save the NHS, work from home.”
Having spent 12 safe weeks in broad isolation, and with a glut of TV, views and insights, it became very clear that I was able to work from home (or more specifically, not in the office), that I was not going to burden the NHS, that I could be safe and alert in many places, and if I didn’t have the virus I was not going to be spreading it.
Put that in the mix, and I find myself on the first flight to Faro with wizzair and being greeted by the enormously friendly staff at the Conrad Algarve in Quinta da Lago.
For a little while now, I have had the idea
of having a TRAVEL SECTION, within Chartered ONE, and so at arguably the least appropriate time, why not start one?
So, how has Portugal fared during the time of COVID-19?

W ell, clearly we need to follow the science and respect guidelines. One thing more than that would be
to understand the science, and interpret the guidelines properly.
Hence why I am writing this in the lovely sunshine of the Algarve, in the delightful setting of the Conrad Hilton.
